God. Bless. These. Tights. I am addicted to thigh highs, and this is the perfect for anyone who has the real struggle of trying to keep them up without wearing a garter belt. Don’t get me wrong, I love real thigh highs as well, and garter belts, but garter belts have been so sexualized that it’s uncomfortable to wear them in certain situations. In high school I had literally every inch of my skin covered except for the gap between my t-shirt dress and my thigh high socks, but since I was wearing my garter belt I got sent to the office. Fuck them, my t-shirt was the proper length, I was wearing shorts underneath them as well, and the teachers just freaked out because I wanted to keep my socks up. I told them I could just take off my garter belt, but all the bending down I’d have to do to pull my socks back up would be more scandalous than one thin line of fabric. Anyway, I loved everything about the color scheme of this look, the deep blue of the velvet on the crop top, and the maroon of my suspender skirt were just a lovely combination. I’m not big on wearing colors, so this look was a bit bright, even for me.
