Went to my last play of the summer, say it isn’t so! The play was called The African Company Presents Richard III and it was fantastic. My mother and Aunt Joni assumed it was going to be Richard III, but come on guys, read the descriptions! It was a play about an all black acting troupe who was putting on their production of Shakespeare’s Tragedy of Richard III at the same time as an all white troupe, who had a famous actor from England performing. It dicusses the complexity of acting when you haven’t experienced life as a royal, how are you supposed to pretend when you’ve never felt any of the emotions. It was moving and done fantastically, I would highly recommend trying to catch it before it’s gone.
This outfit was partially due to the fact that my period has made me a bloated beast and nothing else fit. Like I’m dead serious, if you don’t already have one of these denim dresses, fucking buy one. They’re perfect as a throwback piece to childhood, they’re comfortable as hell, and they’re easily transitioned from summer to fall. Also the selfie of my Aunt Joni, mother and I, resulted in us booting mom out of the photo because she looked too good. As a result she gave us the finger, because that’s love.
