A Fucking Ray of Sunshine

As today and tomorrow are Polar Vortex level cold here in Wisconsin, I legitimately couldn’t go to shoot outside. That being said, I had these photos stored on my phone from a brief photo session I did with Claire back when it was still warm out. So I’m hoping this obnoxious amount of yellow will help to brighten your day of being trapped inside.

I consider this outfit the brightest outfit I have ever warn in my entire life. Remember how in an earlier look I said that yellow was my apparent obesession this year? Well this outfit is proof. The skirt is actually a two part set where there is a bandeau portion, but I love switching it up and using this polka-dot front tie top instead. It allows for a bit more movement when I’m working, and this particular day we were doing some planting, so I didn’t want my tits to pop out. The shades of yellow are just close enough it feels like a set. I think a fun challenge for you to try is finding two pieces that are close enough in color that they mimic a two piece set! It’s actually more difficult than you’d think, but a nice way to see how much of the same color palette your closet is.

The hat I’m wearing is my second favorite hat I own, it’s a straw hat that has flowers woven into it. It was my last purchase before leaving Anthropologie, and it got so much use when it was hot out because it allowed my head to be cool, rather than my wool UNIF hat. I absolutely adore this look, and I wore this a ton this summer. It’s so fucking ironic that I’m writing about planting and being in the sun while my windows have literally frozen shut. I’ve been sipping lots of tea and am reading a book, what are you all doing?
