Phantom of the Opera

This post may be a bit late, but you can all still enjoy it. Wore this exact outfit for my mother and I’s night out at the theater.  We saw Phantom of the Opera, and it was my first time ever seeing the live stage performance.  I’ve always loved the musical, the movie version with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum is always fun for me.  This did not disappoint.  They did unique staging, and costumes were lovely, and the singers were almost all amazing.  There’s something even more impressive about someone hitting a high note live than something that’s pre-recorded.  I’m thankful I got to go and really happy it didn’t disappoint.

One of my favorite musicals is Bye, Bye, Birdie and I saw it live and it was a huge disappointment.  They didn’t have the energy that the film had and it ruined it for me. You can’t help yourself from comparing film to the live performance and it’s nerve-wracking to see a live performance.  I mean it’s like when I saw Beauty and the Beast last year, it was great, but I compared the musical to the movie the entire time.

Also, didn’t I tell you that this dress wasn’t just for Halloween?  I love the combination with these thigh high boots from Nine West that I thrifted.  Styling thigh highs is difficult, but give a fierce statement.
