It was the first play of the summer on Wednesday, and we were met by thunderstorms. As American Players Theater is an outdoor theater, it was disheartening as this was my partners first trip to APT. We were off to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and at 6:45, it wasn’t looking good as it was torrential downfall. We made it there and the weather luckily held off and we were only delayed once! For our first play together it was an eventful one, but the weather didn’t stop us from having a great time.
This look was designed partially for fashion, and partially to keep the rain off. The maxi dress was perfect for absorbing extra moisture off the seat from the sprinkles. I actually got this dress quite a long time ago and haven’t shot a look with it. I instantly fell in love with the muted pastels, making it ideal for spring and summer. The jean shirt was added mostly for warmth, but also to break up the pattern so it wasn’t so overwhelming. To the actual play I switched to my short black rain boots, but for this shoot I decided to rock these ever perfect shoes. I skipped accessories, as I was wearing a raincoat on top of this, and nothing ruins jewelry like rain.
Do any of you have plays or musicals or concerts you’re seeing this summer? Tell me about them, and what you wore.
